Hi everyone,

The campus User-Centered Design (UCD) Group is excited to be showing
UIE's "The Whys, Whats, and Hows of Prototyping" seminar LIVE next
Thursday, November 12th from 10:30am-12pm in 127 Dwinelle Hall. You
can watch a preview of the seminar here: https://www.uie.com/events/virtual_seminars/tour_proto/
. Feel free to bring your lunch!

We'll receive a link to the slides before the event...I'll post it to
the "UIE Seminars" bSpace (http://bspace.berkeley.edu) site and notify
these mailing lists as soon as we receive it. We recommend bringing a
copy of the slides to the seminar. I'll also post the full seminar
recording of this event to bSpace when we receive it after the event
is over. Please contact me if you are not currently a member of the
bSpace site and need access. If you are a member, after logging into
bSpace with your CalNet ID, "UIE Seminars" should appear as a bSpace
'tab' near the top of the page.

At the seminar, Fred will show you:

How you can choose the right method for where you are in your design
and what will work best in your organization
The range of prototyping tools available, from low-fidelity paper-
based techniques, to high-fidelity software like Axure and iRise, to
interactive programming techniques, like jQuery
Four example prototypes, all different, yet all sharing the common
attributes found in every prototype (and why these attributes are
important to your success)
How to leverage the best prototyping technique, whether you're
exploring ideas, validating your design decisions, or trying to
communicate with your team

Hope to see you there!
Allison
