Greetings Bay Area Drupalers,

The evolution of the old static web to the new interactive web 2.0 world
has brought tons of new possibilities and excitement to the internet. It
has also opened the door to the plague that is blog spam. Drupal has
been one of the engines driving this evolution of the web, and it is a
major target for spammers, botnets, and unscrupulous SEO merchants. So,
this month, lets talk about Drupal and spam. What the bad guys looking
for, the major attacks, and what you can do to keep your beautiful new
website from filling up with ads for off-brand Viagra and organic colon
cleanses.

I will give a short presentation of the anti-spam features in Drupal
core, the major anti-spam Drupal modules, and my experiences chasing
spammers off of badcamp.net. Then we can move into round-table mode, and
share our war stories and, hopefully, our solutions.

Lunch will be provided by CITRIS

See you all there,
Tao Starbow
