From: Lynn Zummo <lzummo_at_calperfs.berkeley.edu>

Join us for the first Webnet meeting of the 2008/09 year, Tuesday, October 14!
********************************************
What: Website Redesign
Where: 303 Doe Library
When: Tuesday, October 14, 12:00 noon
Presenters: E. Marie Robertson, LSCR Web Team Project Manager, and Julie Chiron, University Relations Campaign Web Manager.
We're already too familiar with the bad and the ugly. To provide some needed relief today, our presenters will talk
about the good: the challenges and plusses.
E. Marie Robertson will discuss two redesign projects that ended well to the satisfaction of all involved: Classics and
Art Practice. What made these projects, one of which involved an outside contractor, work? What challenges were still
faced, and what can we do as web developers when we encounter those challenges?
Julie Chiron will talk about the recent redesign of the Give to Cal website, including the process, how they are working
with the campus, and administrative tools they are creating to let people do more of the content upkeep themselves.

How to find room 303 if you enter Doe Library via the south side of the building (updated directions):
1. You'll see a Library security desk on your left when you walk in the Doe Library via the south side entrance.
2. Walk forward through the security gates, down a long hallway that passes the InterLibrary Services Room on your left.
3. When you reach the end of the hallway, the entrance to the Main Stacks will be straight ahead. TURN LEFT, into a
small gallery alcove.
4. Walk through the gallery alcove into the larger Bernice Layne Brown Gallery. You'll see a marble staircase on your left.
5. Walk two flights up the right side of the marble staircase.
6. Room 303 is at the top of the stairs, on the left hand side.
