The site's About and FAQ pages state that www.mail-archive.com "is
a creation of Jeff Breidenbach. Jeff Marshall is now on board to help
out. ... [it] was run for six years as a personal hobby project that
grew a little faster than expected," and that "The service runs under
full automation ... The process of indexing mailing lists is
automatic; The Mail Archive cannot and does not screen material and
assumes no responsibility for the contents of lists included in the
index."
A mailing address is given for concerns regarding DMCA (copyright) issues:
Jeff Marshall
1894 20th Ave
San Francisco, CA 94122
But given all that is stated above, getting these folks to remove a
single message from a maillist archive may be a hard sell, although
you can always try ... Another option might be to request that the
list be removed from their archives entirely. If that proves
successful, the members of that list might then decide whether to
implement another method of archiving it, presumably one over which
they would have more control.
