Re: photos for web

I know there are plenty of resources out there, and some of your
suggestion are excellent. I already bookmarked them.

But like Susan, I'm also constantly on the lookout for good
photography and I'm very frustrated that an institution as large as
Cal doesn't seem to have a pool of photos for staff to use. I don't
know if other universities do or if my expectations are off the
charts and laughable. But I come from a smaller place but where we
had far better resources to draw on. I was sure finding a photo would
not be a problem here. Whoa!

We're all in the same boat -- trying to promote Cal. Why do we have
to keep reinventing the wheel? Or go out to buy boring stock photos
of non-Cal students when there must be thousands and thousands of
images of our own students/teachers/classrooms etc etc ... but we
can't find them.

If no such resource is available, I wonder if there's some way to
start organizing one. I'm quite new here (to my job, I mean, not to
Berkeley!) so I don't know the cast of characters very well. But I'm
sure there must be photographers and communications people everywhere
who could be persuaded to pool their resources in some way. Or am I
really naive?
