Does anyone know anything about scanning our id cards from a card
scanner connected to a PC?
I don't know anything about this technology except that I think our
cards implement 2 different ones; the magnetic strip is one, and
there's also some sort of proximity thing where you can wave your
wallet in front of a sensor and it unlocks a door.
I'm wondering if anyone has connected a card scanner to a pc and
scanned id cards. Or if there's a campus web site that documents what
you need if you want to do this; recommended vendors, etc.
I'm working on an application where people have to sign in on a pc and
I was thinking it would be nice if they could just swipe their card.
