Re: staffing for websites

Hi all:
The OHR website includes about 1,800 HTML pages plus several resources
published through databases. The static pages are published via
Dreamweaver. Technical staff are in one sub-unit and content/formatting
staff in another, both reporting to a single director. Each OHR functional
area has a liaison to the web manager, to coordinate updates and new
content for the functional area.

A--Content and formatting:
1-Website content manager: Prin. Analyst plans and manages site
architecture, navigation, content, editing, quality control, and log
analysis. Acts as liaison to functional units for content. Formats some
content and supervises CRS II who does most formatting. Approves and posts
non-database content. (web management is approximately 25% of this position)
2-Web assistant: .5 fte CRS II does most formatting & design. Large
multi-page projects are sometimes pre-formatted by functional owners and
finished by the web manager and assistant. Manages department Intranet.

B-Server maintenance, database development:
In transition--server & database maintenance are done by various people,
but probably will total about .75 FTE for the web server & web-served
databases. Internal web database app development & maintenance will be
about 1.5 FTE.
