UC recently signed the long-delayed Adobe Contractual License Program
(CLP) agreement. This provides several improvements over UC's
previous Adobe TLP agreement. Having now clarified a few points
related to this agreement, I can make a general announcement.
Under this agreement, departments can purchase Adobe products at the
maximum academic discount for use on University machines. Licenses,
maintenance, and media can be ordered separately. The licenses are
perpetual. The term of the agreement is March 18, 2003 through March
17, 2005. Orders are placed with Technology Resource Center (TRC).
Where is what's new about this agreement compared to its predecessor:
1. Improved pricing.
2. No minimum order required. A department can order a single
license if desired. There are no more minimum-order delays.
3. Maintenance (if purchased) runs through the end of the
2-year agreement.
4. For the first 6 months of the CLP, departments can order
maintenance for products that were previously purchased without
maintenance. This applies to any previous purchases from any source.
5. Product serial numbers can be delivered to customers within
2 days of TRC's receipt of an order.
6. Media (CDs) and hardcopy manuals can be delivered to
customers within 3-5 days of TRC's receipt of an order.
