My name is Jon Conhaim, and I am the Director of e-Berkeley
(http://eberkeley.berkeley.edu/). I am working with fellow members of the
e-Berkeley Implementation Task Force to research options for a campus web
portal. By portal, I mean a web gateway. A campus portal could include a
directory of campus web sites, a facility to search for other sites, campus
news, weather information, e-mail, campus telephone directory, online
calendar, and access to other campus web-based applications. Users could
also customize the portal interface to present the information of greatest
interest to them.
As part of the research, I am trying to identify all of the existing campus
portals and portal projects that are in the planning or development
stage. If you are either managing a portal or working on a campus portal
project, please send me an e-mail at Conhaim@uclink.berkeley.edu with your
name, telephone number and short description of your portal. I will compile
all of the information I receive and share copies of the document with the
individuals who have sent me information.
