I keep seeing everyone is supposed to change by xxx and I've been telling my
users, but the big question that keeps coming up is "Or what?". If they do
not change it because for them that is user friendly, what happens? Do they
suddenly lose access?

Neither have I seen the "all staff" message.

But I have seen the public draft "communique"

https://kb.berkeley.edu/jivekb/servlet/KbServlet/download/2619-102-155/canet
_id_communiques.pdf

I'd like to suggest that if the "all staff" is based on that draft,
then email and telephone support contact information be added.

I put out a departmental memo with pointers to the relevant IST
documents, now people are calling me with their questions. The draft
says to "please notify IT staff in your department", but this is not
my project.
