Hi -
forgive me if I missed some of the discussion, but why do we have to
change our Calnet ID to a "friendly" ID (any one-liners?). Who or what
is benefitting? Is there an article I can reference?
By the way, I have not yet received an "all staff" message regarding the
change.
thanks for any assistance~

Guy,
The deputy "Reset CalNet Passphrase' web page allows you to enter only the
user's numeric ID and you'll be told all the possible CalNet IDs belonging
to that person. If the user has a self-selected ID, there'll be just one
such ID and it will be filled in for you on the form. Then, you just have
to re-submit the form.
(In fact, part of your validation of the user's identity is normally to
check the individual's CalCard, which contains the numeric ID).
Mike
