Hi Ivan,
If the printer is on the same subnet as it's users, put in a bogus
gateway in the printer's network config (like it's own IP address, or an
unrouteable address). This will prevent access from off subnet.
Obviously that doesn't help if the users are on another subnet.
Do *NOT* put the gateway address in at all, anywhere. (I've seen people
accidentally put the gateway as the IP address, and mess up the whole
subnet). Just to be clear.
It's kind of an ugly hack, and not really what I'd call a good solution,
but it may mitigate things if you have no other choice. I'd put in a
print server first if that's possible.
This isn't an official recommendation or anything, just FYI from me
personally.
