I've heard that MAC address filtering isn't fool proof either. In fact,
it easy to defeat with available tools.
I would recommend enabling encryption using a very strong password (i.e.
not in dictionary, as long as possible, special characters, upper and
lower) on the Wi-Fi with WPA/WPA2 with AES.
And if you want, limit your DHCP range to one address.
If you need more security than that, you probably shouldn't be using
Wi-Fi for that application.
Also, you can change the password frequently.
