Re: [Security] Symantec vulnerability update

Hi all,

As an update to Allison's note from last week:

We now have an updated "slipstreamed" installer for SCS 3.1 + MP1
available on the Software download site cited below. This reduces the
patching to a single patch (install 3.1 + MP1, then add PP1) for those
not already at the SCS 3.1 level. Symantec claims that an integrated MR1
release for SCS 3.1 is due in two or three weeks.

In addition, to help recover from failed installations or patching jobs,
the NoNav2.49 unsupported cleanup tool from Symantec is made available
on the same Software download page. Use this with discretion as an
alternative to the manual uninstall procedures for SCS which Symantec
officially publishes and which are also referenced on the IST KB
(kb.berkeley.edu).
