Colleagues,

Despite widespread (and no doubt false) rumors that not much work
gets done on campus in December, IST CNS folks keep right on trucking!

As evidence, you might enjoy checking out our weekly newsletter:

    http://cns-pao.berkeley.edu/cnsnewsletter/news121305.shtml

The index of issues is at: http://cns-pao.berkeley.edu/cnsnewsletter/

Some highlights involve deploying SmokePing in support of the Law School's
innovative use of AirBears for final exams; an overview of the System and
Network Security group's nearterm direction; and news of pilot projects
helping departments do security scanning of their computers using a centrally
purchased and maintained security scanner!

We all hope you all enjoy safe and happy HOLIDAYS!!! Please send your
comments, critiques, kudos and photos to cliff@berkeley.edu.

        Thanks,

                Cliff Frost
Director, IST Communication & Network Services
                UC Berkeley
