I'm not sure what you did initially, but the Cisco VPN client version
4.0.5c for Macintosh
users is also available from http://software.berkeley.edu.
The product user guide states that it can be used for Mac OS X version
10.1.5 or later.

You would use your Calnet ID and password for authentication in order to
download the
software from there.
