Linux/BSD Distro Rec's: Mtg Interest Last Call

From: David Rieger <drieger_at_olac.berkeley.edu>

Hello folks,

This is a last call to gage interest on campus for this meeting (we have a
bakers dozen who are interested). The only reason we seek to know how many
people are interested is for securing an appropriate space for the group.
Please let me know by the end of today (3/7/05) if you are interested in
this meeting topic. As soon as we obtain a meeting space it will be posted.

Thanks again,

david

## Original Meeting Post###

We have a good amount of people who use these technologies and there is a
significant amount of people who are interested in them. I would like to
schedule a roundtable discussion for the group - no vendors, no sales
pitches and no speakers.

Agenda topics that people seem to want discussed are:

What is deployed now on campus?
What works?
How well do users work with these solutions?
Security.
How best to integrate with other technologies.
Is there an elegant way to use these technologies, save the University
money and have a robust computing environment?

Those who would be interested in a Micronet roundtable discussing this
topic (Tuesday morning, May 3, 2005) please email so we can find a room
that suits us and is large enough. Please respond with your interest by
next Monday (03/07/05).
