Campus VPN Services question

I need to know if a user connects to the campus VPN can they then connect
to their office computer using Remote Desktop?

I also have several remote users in the LA area, I support their machines
via PCAnywhere. I want to bring them into our domain, but am blocked at
the campus borders. I've been informed that they have to connect to the
domain using the campus VPN service. When I install and run the VPN client
all is well until I make the connection. As soon as the VPN connects, I
loose my connection with PCAnywhere. Is there anyway I can use the VPN and
keep PCAnywhere connectivity?
