Re: Email from Home

Hi Everyone,

We have been seeing this problem.

If they are using something like SBC or another port 25 filtering
ISP, then just change the outgoing port to 465 or 587 and they will
be fine. I have SBC at home, opted out, everything was fine until
Monday night, when it suddenly stopped working again. Maybe SBC did
something more and didn't bother to tell?!?!? I switched to 465 and
everything is fine.

It could also be the problem with the anti-virus email scanning, we
have a Knowledge Base article up on this one:

http://kb.berkeley.edu:80/cgi-bin/kb/answer.pl?question=kb348

At any rate, switching to the alternate port and/or turning off email
scanning does seem to do it.

Charles, let me know which solution works for your director.

Thanks,

Bernie Tower
