Here's my situation.
We run windows XP
Eudora 6.1 or 6.21
Symantec Client Security 2.01 MR1
The only changes made from a vanilla install was to add specific
servers to the "trusted" list.
CalMail has told everyone to make changes in Eudora by March 1 to use
SSL/TLS security.
We have made the change indicated by following the directions on the
CalMail e-mail notification web link.
When we send a test message we get a pop-up error saying that "an encrypted
e-mail has been detected"
Click OK to clear the box and at the bottom of the screen an error message
says that "the server does not support SSL"
I sent screen shots of the errors to consult@berkeley and they said:
I have looked at the screen shots you sent us. The problem is most likely
caused by the fact that your Symantec AntiVirus email scanning feature is
not compatible with using SSL protocol. You need to disable
"Internet/Email Auto-Protect" in Symantec AntiVirus configuration
settings.
I've looked under every rock inside Symantec SCS and cannot find an
"Internet/Email Auto-Protect" field
Does anyone know where this setting exists?
I did find an option under privacy settings called "Enable Secure
Connections (HTTPS)" and I've tried the Eudora settings with this option
checked and un-checked. Eudora fails in both instances.
So my question to you is, does anyone else have the same setup that I've
indicated above
and
does your connection work when you make the change in Eudora?
If so, please please please tell me what you did to make it work.
Thanks.
