As Karl pointed out, patches and/or updates to "prevent XP from
warning that there is no virus protection" when Symantec Client
Security is running are prominently listed on the C@B website, both
on the Software Updates page

   http://cab.berkeley.edu/update/index.html

and in the following item on the Troubleshooting page:

If you're experiencing problems with Symantec Client Security for
Windows, or its anti-virus or personal firewall components, you may
be able to find a solution by visiting the SCS troubleshooting page
on the C@B website:

   http://cab.berkeley.edu/help/faqs/scs2/scs-troubleshooting.html

If an issue you've encountered isn't listed there, please let us
know by clicking the "Send comments" link at the bottom of any page
on the C@B website.
