Our older Dell LCDs in the more accessible lab have a 'Y' type support and
fixed connection to the screen (1701s?). These are chained to the desk and
the CPU lock. The chain just loops though the monitor stand.
The desks already have cable runs, or holes for eye-bolts (previous
security cables) to run the chain.
Elegant, it's not.
It won't stop anyone with bolt cutters, but nothing will stop a
well-equiped attack. The requirement is to make casual theft difficult for
insurance purposes.
The newer 1703s have a slot for a Kensington bracket on the LCD panel, but
not on the detachable stand, so far as I can see.
Locks (a set with a common key helps enormously) and chains are not too
expensive, but Kensington laptop cables are not much more.
