Yes.

I also have had Eudora crash on my dual (quad, if you count
hyperthreading) Windows Server 2003 machine
(Dell Precision 450). I also used to crash when I was running
W2K. Thunderbird has never crashed on this machine.

The one bug I've seen in Thunderbird, which ironically shows
up in this reply, is how it does word wrapping when it includes
the original message in a reply. For example, your message, shown
above preceeded by '> ' characters, was originally 4 lines. The
"that is" line was at the end of the first line, not on a line
by itself. Thunderbird put this on a line by itself. I suspect
this is because of incorrect word wrapping but I don't understand
why word wrapping is being done at all because I explicitly set
word wrap at 120 characters and your original message had no
lines even close to 120 characters long.

My only other complaint about Thunderbird is that it doesn't
have an easy way to conditionally add a signature to an
email message. I don't like to always include a signature and
instead like to choose when to add it. Although Thunderbird can
easily be configured to always add a signature, I haven't seen
any way to add it with one click, like I could with Eudora.
However, after quickly reading about the Thunderbird extension
mechanism, I think I could add this fairly easily. Maybe
I'll do this during Xmas vacation.
