It seems to me that this is a tool which Excess and Salvage (or CCS?) could
purchase and offer
its use (as a service for a nominal fee) to the campus.
If they charged, for example, $5 per drive, it would almost be competitive
compared to
staff wages required to run a software tool on a machine. (and then there
are all of the
drives which are in non-functioning computers - how much time does it take
to install
one in a working computer in order to wipe it with software?)
