        While I see the appeal of blocking these ports at the campus
perimeter, remember that that would mean that any computer here on
campus would be on a nice, cozy, private-ish network of (I'm
guessing at the number) 30,000(?) "trusted" campus computers....!

        One visitor plugging in a compromised laptop to the network,
or somebody's laptop on airbears, or in the dorms, or in student
housing (you name it), and the whole inside/outside distinction kind
of falls apart.

        <shrug>
