Hi Folks:
I am having a continuing problem with printing after having attempted
to install a new printer in the office. The HP LJ 2300 worked fine
on most computers. But two machines had different problems with an
RPC unavailable error: one won't allow any printer to be added and
the previous printer that had been installed for years have
disappeared. the other machine allows me to create a printer for a
machine that isn't in the same location (not a perfect solution) but
that RPC problem comes up although it does allow the printer to be
created, and appears to print to it, no page is produced.
I have followed suggestions to reinstall RPC, copy spooler files,
reinstall service packs without success.
I would like to hire some onsite assistance: but DOCS is only on a
contract basis and I don't know of any other providers on campus.
Outside?
Any suggestions? Much appreciated. No printing is a serious problem
for anyone but especially for this user's role.
Thank you,
Michael
