Folks,
I'd like a fixed field length file (but I'd accept Tab or comma
delimited) that contains all the account numbers and associated names.
In other words: 56210 - Buidling Maintenance.
I've been to the BFS, downloadable chart of accounts links, but these
seem to come back as Excel Spreadsheets, and I can't figure out how to
extract the appropriate data into two columns. I've tried =LEFT(CELLREF,
5) to pick out the account numbers for starters, but it appears that
that's not the appropriate function for the data type or there's a bunch
of leading characters, or something. I'm willing to do that if someone
can tell me how.
Anyway, any clues greatly appreciated.
