Archiving mail on Outlook

Is Outlook supposed to be able to archive mail off of uclink via IMAP?
I have archiving set to run weekly, but all I get are empty folders.
Also Outlook doesn't seem to update the unread message count next to the
folder name in a timely fashion. I'm using Outlook 2002 SP2.
