Bill,
I don't know if this book would make the best text for a beginning course
(maybe Parts I and II, Background Skills and Core Skills, would be enough,
leaving Part III, Advanced Skills, for a second course), but it is the most
comprehensive and useful work I've yet found on the topic:
"Inside Active Directory: A System Administrator's Guide"
