   A complicating factor: AT&T is actively marketing its AT&T
Broadband (cable television, cable Internet ...) unit. This may help
explain, at least in part, the limited resources allocated to support
its broadband Internet customers through the rocky transition from
the @Home network to AT&T's WorldNet network.

   According to a Reuters article, AT&T's board of directors will meet
today (Wednesday, 2001-12-19) and may possibly decide at this meeting
whether to sell this unit to rival cable companies or to spin-off
this unit as an independent business:
