I think this is probably because the Micronet archive is available on the web:
http://ls.berkeley.edu/mail/micronet/
Unfortunately, these archival posts are searchable by the outside world,
which includes the search engines' automatic indexing
robots.
I think there is an HTML meta-tag which can stop search engines from
indexing these web pages, but it does not seem to be
present in the archived postings. Perhaps it could be added?
