    This Isn't exactly what you want, full rights implies access control and supervisor and those would be a big No-nos.

    As for this specific problem it is probably possible to give them read access to the files (possibly through inheritance) and erase, et al. to the folder so they could delete any files they create. Their read access to the files was probably not explicit but through inheritance from the folder. If you select the specific file and put an inheritance filter on it so that they only inherit read/modify/whatever that file can be protected.

    SOLUTION: So, we've had to give users "full rights" via Novell to that
    folder on the server (they had been read-only) and warn them not to delete
    anything -- then the Access97 security prevents them from changing data.
    [However the Novell security allows them to move and delete the folders
    .... some solution huh?] At least, until I can find a better "work around"
    this has allowed all parties to access the database.
