    Colleagues:
    There will be relief on this front in the not-too-distant future. The
    CalMail project (modeled on UC Irvine's ZotMail) will include a new
    mechanism for lists that should make this whole process cleaner and easier.
    That's in Phase II of the project. Phase I provides the ability to send
    messages to everyone in a given control unit, or all of campus, but that
    will be fairly tightly controlled as to who can send to whom.

    Unfortunately, I don't know the exact timeline on this -- maybe someone
    else on this list can fill us in? The business rules are basically done, so
    it shouldn't be too long for Phase I, and then the list management phase
    will follow thereafter.
