The Emma Goldman Papers needs someone who can get us (an off-campus site)
connected to UC. We also need someone to advise us on what to do about
backup (and possibly about our network server which is too old to use the
new internet software backup programs).
We got DSL last March and with volunteer Network Administrator help we
managed to get our 8 computers networked by means of a net 10 private
network. Alas, we haven't been able to get connected to the campus so that
we can use Telnet etc. CNS brought over someone to see what they could do,
but they gave up. Being off-campus (Ellsworth & Channing) rather than on
campus, and being too small and poor to have a computer person on staff
makes it more complicated -- we don't have the resources for Frame Relay or
T-1 even if they were available to us, and we don't have anyone to advise
us or to implement anything that is decided. It is critical that we find
someone to help us sort this out. We are happy to pay someone -- we just
need recommendations for someone who would actually understand the problem
and be able to solve it. We would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks,
Joanne Sterricker
