Does anyone know if there are university (or other) standards for using the
words to refer to someone logging in or out of a website or page. It gets
tricky because it might be a verb, a noun, or an adjective. For example,
"Log in here to check your account"
"This is the login page for ..."
"Enter your student log-in and date of birth..."
Should it be login, log-in, log in or something else? Or perhaps it should
be log-on, or logon? What about when they are logging out...should it be
log-out or logout or ???
How do you decide what version to use? Is there a style guide somewhere
that I should consult?
Thanks for your help.
