Hello All,
Just a point of clarification regarding security and Apple's use of the
wireless IEEE 802.11 standard (branded Apple Airport):
<Following is an excerpt from Apple's Tech Info Library>
AirPort offers password access control and encryption to deliver security
equivalent to that of a physical network cable. Users are required to enter
a password to log on to the AirPort network--and, optionally, an additional
password for access to any other computer on the network. When transmitting
information, AirPort uses 40-bit encryption to scramble data, rendering it
useless to eavesdroppers.
For further information regarding Apple's Airport Technology, please see the
following FAQ's found in Apple's Tech Info Library:

Should anyone on the Berkeley Campus, Office of the President, or the
Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory be interested in a Wireless demonstration day
on campus, please contact me and I would be happy to coordinate vendors
(with System Engineers in tow) to visit this campus and address your
questions and concerns. Perhaps a Wireless LAN Day sometime in October?
Let me know your interest and if there are enough interested parties, I'll
set it up.
Best,
Kin
