Fwd: 2008 Chancellor's Outstanding Staff Award

Hi all:

As IT people, we're often privileged to observe a wider swath of
activities in our organization or across campus than most staff
members would. I think many of us often see other staff members and
teams going above and beyond in their contributions to the
university. From what I've seen, this is especially true in these
difficult times--I've seen people and teams really step up and do
impressive things recently. The Chancellor's Outstanding Staff Award
recognizes those extraordinary contributions, and is one of the
highest awards a staff member can receive.

I'm writing to encourage each of you to consider nominating a worthy
colleague or team for a Chancellor's Outstanding Staff Award. Anyone
(Faculty, Staff, or Student) can nominate any staff member or team
anywhere on campus--there doesn't need to be any formal organizational
relationship.

Nominations for this year's awards are due on Wednesday, January 21,
2009 (just a little over 2 weeks away, now). A note from the
Chancellor with more details is attached below.

Thank you,

Ian
