Anybody Using Desktop Macs as a Compute Cluster?

I'm about to start on a project to use my group's
high-end desktop Macs as a virtual compute cluster.
I will be installing Sun Grid Engine on all the nodes
so that the desktops can run compute jobs (at lowered
priority) while they're being used as standard desktops.

Has anybody already done something like this? If so,
I'd like to talk with you.

Cordially,
