Do you know if the .sparseimage file will have any issues being
backed up by TSM?

I believe that the FileVault feature of MacOSX creates a .sparseimage
file of the encrypted user folder. I've seen that the
username.sparseimage file is the only file visible in the .username
folder of the FileVault encrypted user account when looking at the
file list for backup in TSM. I assume that username.sparseimage file
contains all of the encrypted files and the file directory structure.
Of course, the problem with this is that the entire file would most
likely be backed up even if only one small file is changed. That
would result in a very large backup volume.

It's looking like the encrypted sparse disk image for sensitive
documents is going to work the best as long as there are no issues
with the backup of the encrypted .sparseimage file.
