----------
On Sunday, December 2, all existing mailing lists, both Majordomo and
Simple, will be migrated to Mailman. The migration window is from
9am to 6pm. The migration is an automated process that requires no
action from list owners.
During the migration window, only posting messages to the lists will
work normally, although they may experience a slower delivery. All
other functions, including un/subscribing, creation and deletion will
be frozen. The lists will resume full functionality once the
migration has been completed.
Upon completion, the new web-based interface will be available at
<URL:http:/ lists.berkeley.edu>. The new "Manage Your Mailing Lists"
functionality has been integrated into the existing CalMail "Manage
Your Account" interface.
Help guides are available throughout the "Manage Your Mailing Lists"
interface via "More information" links; however for a general
overview of Mailman, please refer to the existing Mailman
documentation at <URL:http://list.org/docs.html>.
Once Mailman is in production for mailing lists housed at
@lists.berkeley.edu, we will be deploying Mailman for CalMail
Departmental Domains. Longer term, we are working on a scalable
system for hosting archives of mailing lists on CalMail.
Migration status will be posted on the CalMail Home Page. If you
have any concerns or need more information, please send a message to
<consult_at_berkeley.edu>.
