Also, the option to delete the mail in your Spam folder within ONE
day has been implemented and is now up on the Manage Your Account
section of the CalMail Home Page!
----------
As part of our ongoing effort to reduce the amount of spam delivered
to your account, we will be implementing an additional anti-spam
application on February 16, 2007.
This new application, Spamhaus, runs a set of DNS Block Lists, lists
of Internet addresses that have been known to send spam and malware or
should not be sending email at all. When these lists are used on
CalMail, if a message comes from any of these addresses, it will be
rejected. These lists are updated with new addresses twice an hour.
If a piece of email is rejected due to the use of Spamhaus' DNS Block
Lists, the sender of that message is provided details of the rejection
and may contact CalMail Consulting or Spamhaus for more information.
We expect this service to provide a noticeable reduction in the amount
of delivered spam. For any questions or comments, please contact
CalMail Consulting <consult_at_berkeley.edu>.
By default, Spamhaus will be enabled on all CalMail accounts. If you
wish to opt-out of using Spamhaus, you may do so at any time via the
Manage Your Account link on the CalMail home page -- select the DNS
Block List option under the Spam Settings menu.
Further information on Spamhaus can be found at
<URL:http://www.spamhaus.org>.
