Team/Ted,

CDW-G has indeed purchased TRC. The UC Technology Acquisition Support (TAS)
team has been working with CDW-G/TRC on plans to convert to the new website.

Unfortunately, in the last 36 hours, CDW-G has reneged on a previous
commitment to keep the TRC site up and running until we have had an adequate
opportunity to test and approve the new site. The TAS team is protesting
this decision vigorously.

For the time being, continue to access use the url's and phone numbers in
place for TRC. On 1/29/07 these will roll over to the new web site and
account managers. Pricing for Microsoft and other University contracts
should remain the same.

Please contact me with any concerns you have or issues you encounter during
this transition so that we can consolidate them and present them to CDW-G at
the University-wide level.

I (or my filters) may have blinked, or I'm not getting the BITS list
anymore, but I'm suprised that there has been no discussion of the sale of
TRC's accounts to CDWG. This is likely to create at least a bump in the
road for software buyers using the Microsoft MVLS and the Adobe licensing
programs.

One of our people logged into his CDWG U/C account and saw Microsoft
prices a bit higher than at TRC. Jacqui at TRC says this will be corrected
when CDWG takes over next month, but I hope our people keep an eye on
them.

I have taken the "ultra-hip precaution" (after Zippy, who had his GI tract
Teflon-coated in the 80's) of cutting and pasting the TRC price lists into
Excel spreadsheets, lest CDWG not have a browsable listing, and rely
instead on a mechanistic system that requires that you know the exact
description and availablitiy a priori.

And TRC would like your last orders by today.
