..................................................................

Dianne Walker has worked at Berkeley for 20 years this coming November. Now
in the CIO's office working on projects, she was a departmental IT, budget,
and HR manager (yes, all three!) for more years than she can remember. Her
current favorite project is leading the campus Web Accessibility Group. A
process consultant with the Leadership Development Program, Dianne was the
Acting Ombudsman for Staff early in her career at Cal. Dianne also taught
the first course on Conflict Resolution in the Peace and Conflict Studies
Program.

A long-time mediator, facilitator, and trainer of mediators and
facilitators, Dianne has many years of experience working with people
through a wide range of disputes and processes. A community mediator for 20
years in San Francisco, Dianne worked with people on landlord-tenant,
roommate, neighbor-neighbor disputes and also was involved in some larger
neighborhood disputes. As a facilitator, she has worked in community,
within organizations, and at a state-wide level. Her special "active
research" interest is disputes where the parties do not speak one another's
language.

Both a "propeller head" and an "English major," Dianne has an MBA with a
concentration in Systems Analysis and Operations Research and an MA in
Applied Linguistics.
