Re: treo 650 vs. blackberry for OS X?

I also use a Treo 650 (Cingular) with OS 10.4.6 on 2 computers (work
and home). I find that it works well with the Palm Desktop.

One issue I've found is syncing with 2 computers using the Palm
Desktop HotSync. It just doesn't work properly. Changes to records
made on one computer cause the records to no longer be recognized as
the same records when syncing with the other computer. As a result,
records become duplicated on both the desktop and handheld. I've
found that the only work around is copy the user data file from one
computer to the other if I want to use both computers. Doing this,
it's possible to the sync the handheld with either computer. I just
recently learned about Missing Sync so I haven't checked to see if
that would solve the problem. Perhaps George knows the answer?

Another Sync issue I just recently discovered when trying to
useFinall bluetooth hotsync. I had already synced my treo 650 using
the USB cable. When I tried to sync using bluetooth, I received and
message from the Hotsync Manager saying the I could not sync another
PDA with the same name to one user profile. Apparently, using a
different sync conduit caused the Hotsync Manager to see my treo as a
different handheld with the same name. Again, perhaps Missing Sync
will not have this problem

Finally, I have another hotsync issue with the USB cable. When I try
to sync by pushing the button on the cable, the treo tries to sync
using the IR to PC/Handheld connection configuration. Going to the
HotSync application on the handheld and using the on-screen button to
initiate a hotsync using the cable works just fine. I have not found
any way to set the cable sync button settings to change this.
