Monday morning blahs: Cinema Display

Hi Folks,

I have a G5 with OS 10.4.3 with a new Apple Cinema display which will
not "wake up" if I've been off the computer for more than, say, 20
hours. In other words, I can't get the monitor to display anything
on any Monday morning. This never happens on a simple overnight.

It takes me anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes of
unplugging/unhooking/restarting to get the thing going again. I
haven't found a consistent workaround, and it doesn't seem to matter
if I've turned off the monitor or just put it to sleep the previous
Friday.

This was happening on my old Sony Triniton monitor and I sent out a
Magnet plea in December -- no responses then so I decided it was time
to buy a new monitor, but the problem persists.

Hope someone can help here...
