Whoops--missed that. Thanks for clarifying, Greg! I think there are
two things going on here:
It looks like the MVS system will require FTPS for connections, while
other hosts (Socrates, etc.) will be OK with SFTP. So, unless you're
having to transfer files up to the MVS system, you should be OK.
(NB: I don't work for CCS, so I can't state this definitively--it's
only what I've gathered from wading through all of this.)
This is less than clear in the BCC article mentioned below and the
links in that article.
As Michael mentions below, it would be most helpful if Macs were more
explicitly mentioned on the IST-CCS Secure File Transfer Software
site, and if Secure FTP (http://www.glub.com/products/secureftp/)for
the Mac was mentioned on that site. I'll also see about getting
Secure FTP linked from the software.berkeley.edu site (which I AM
involved with the maintenance of).
If anyone from CCS is reading this, it would also be helpful for all
of us to know specifically which hosts will require SFTP and which
will require FTPS. (If nothing else, it would be good to know this
for the explanation of the software on the software.berkeley.edu
site.)
Hope this message isn't too much of a muddle!
