CalAgenda service problems

Hi,

As those of you who use the CalAgenda calendar service may have
noticed, we have been having an unusual number of problems with the
service since we upgraded to a new version of Oracle Calendar. These
problems did not occur during the testing of the software on our
Avantgenda server, so they have been a surprise to the CalAgenda
service team. We have been working hard along with Oracle's technical
support staff to solve these problems.

We are also working on ways to improve communication with our
subscribers about the status of servers. For instance, we not only
are posting announcements on the service Web page at
http://calagenda.berkeley.edu/, but we also are posting announcements
at http://systemstatus.berkeley.edu/.

The CalAgenda server will be down for maintenance this Sunday
morning, January 25th, from midnight to 9:00 AM. We are hopeful that
this maintenance, as well as some other work being done this weekend,
will solve a number of recent problems the service has been
experiencing.

The Avantgenda server will also be down for maintenance Sunday
morning, but only from midnight to 1:30 AM.

We regret this inconvenience to our subscribers and thank you for
bearing with us.
