After a few false starts, the new migration tool is up and ready for
use! There are several features which you might find useful. The
script will:
1. Check logs on UCLink and alert the user if they have used Eudora 5.1
or 5.2 for the PC within the last 45 days, with instructions on how to fix
the encryption problem.
2. Check the password and ask the user to change it if it contains a
space, which is not allowed on CalMail.
3. Check to see if the user is using IMAP, if so, will prompt the user to
check the INBOX prefix and change it if necessary.
4. Check to see if the user used CRAM-MD5 and prompt them to change to
SSL.
This will be a useful tool to check your users systems and see if there
will be any problems prior to migration. You do not need to migrate the
account to use the tool, you can use it to simply check the account.
The migration tool can be found on the UCLink Home Page:
http://www-uclink.berkeley.edu
click on Manage Your Account and log in. Once you have logged in, you
will see the Migration tool.
Kudos to Jerry Berkman for creating the scripts behind the tool!
