Eudora now has integral spell checking, which replaces the external
Spellswell "Word Service" used by Eudora for Mac OS in versions prior
to 5.0.

You can configure Eudora's spell checking in the "Special" menu,
"Settings..." item, "Spell Checking" panel. You can have Eudora check
spelling only upon request, or automatically after you complete each word.

You might make sure that you are using a Carbonized version of Eudora
5.0 or later. The campus distributes site installers for Eudora 5.2.1r
and, soon, Eudora 6.0, via <http://software.berkeley.edu/>. If what's
discussed in this message doesn't help you resolve the problem where
Spellswell is launched in Classic, write back to the MAGNet list and we
can discuss further troubleshooting steps.
