Hi,
After very quick and dirty testing, I found that Netscape 7.02 works
out of the box without tweaking any settings; check out:
<http://socrates.berkeley.edu/~ar/working/browsers/melvyl-netscape.jpg>
I was not able to get any of the other Mozilla-based Mac OS X browsers
(Mozilla Firebird 1.4a, Camino 0.7 and Mozilla 1.4) to properly display
the page. But I didn't try very hard either. :) For what it's worth,
Safari beta 1 v74 does not properly display the page, but MSIE 5.2.3
does.
So since Netscape supports automatic proxy configuration and also
displays the character set properly why not use Netscape?
Does anyone have any experiences with other character sets with
Netscape or other browsers?
Regards,
